This Authentic Persian Rug is a Bakhtiyari Garden Rug. Designs of this type were originally based on Persian gardens. Simplified garden patterns became associated with the Bakhtiyari tribe within the past century. The best examples such as this one are highly regarded. The color selections from their hand-dyed home-grown wool often show more variety and depth than we find in most nomadic Bakhtiyari work. Village weavers had an advantage over the nomads in outlaying areas: Master professional dyers. Note the range of color in this carpet!
